17-31 Playfair is an example of Victorian workingmen’s terraces. It is representative of typical workers housing built for the rental market during the mid-Victorian period in Sydney. It demonstrates clearly the stages of development of this group and the typical subdivision patterns which occurred during the 1875-1883.
